Family Conciliation

Family Conciliation is a professional service in the area of family conflicts and divorce. During the family conciliation, the conciliator supports dissenting partners as an impartial third party. In this process, the parties are able to understand each other's views and needs, which should encourage cooperation. This process makes it possible to find solutions to problems out of court. Reconciliation helps parents make the best possible agreements based on the developmental needs of their children. Family mediation also helps children to function more easily with the separation of their parents.

The family reconciliation focuses on solving problems looking forward - not looking for the culprit or dealing with past events.

The most common contentious issues in family conciliation are:

  • - issues relating to the care of children and their upbringing
  • - issues related to the economic support of children
  • - issues relating to the place of residence and other way of life of children after the parents have moved apart
  • - issues related to common home and real estate after divorce
  • - all kinds of other issues relating to differences of opinion within the family or other matters relating to divorce and separation

Long-term studies have shown that reconciliation allows:

  • - resolve much of the disagreement out-of-court
  • - speed up the course of things, save money and time at the expense of legal costs
  • - enhance the responsiveness between the parties in reaching agreements
  • - increase the satisfaction of both parties in terms of agreements
  • - improve the relationship between the child and the parent who does not have custody

However, family reconciliation is not suitable for domestic violence cases where one of the parties is in a dominant, the other in a humble position - so the reconciliation process assumes equal parties seeking solutions to their questions with the help of the conciliator.

The cost of family conciliation:

The length of one family mediation session is 90 minutes, the price of the session differs depending on the area and the preparation of the specialists. The average price of a family mediation session depending on the family spender area and qualifications is between 80 and 140 euros.

The family conciliation service can also be used for cross-border disputes, see e-European Justice website
